Downsize Drill Template

Job Specification

• Create a down size drill template that could be located to the wing cover and secured in position. The template would then enable the operator to transfer drill Ø3/16” through the cover to secure the cover to Rib 6.
• The jig was manufactured to allow the installation of drill bushes and jig bushes to ensure the longevity of the tool and the repeatable repositioning of the tool.
• Benefits of 3D printing the tool included a quick turnaround on from design to manufacture and also reducing the overall weight of the tool to ensure safe handling from a single operator
